Positions

PRESIDENT: Oversee all officers and their committee | Preside at meetings | Vote only in case of a tie | Represent the organization | Be in charge of and keep in contact with CSI | Look for grants with the Treasurer and be a legal signer on the primary banking account | Provide training to the incoming CAB group which is planned with the Vice President | Perform such other duties as ordinarily pertain to this office.

VICE PRESIDENT: Preside over weekly cabinet meetings in the absence of the President | Oversee internal affairs within the CAB and club (Internal affairs may include undertaking complaints and managing conflicts that may arise) | Assist the President in every way | Prepare CAB training with the President | Watch over the committees and assist them when necessary.

SECRETARY: Record the minutes of all CAB meetings | Keep a file of the club’s records (includes member’s information, archive drives, and any documents relating to the club) | Maintain a current roster of membership | Issue notices of meetings | Publish a weekly newsletter in conjunction with the Hxstorian (should include information about future events, and resources to members).

TREASURER: Receive all funds and process Request for Payment, Deposit Slip, and Officer Signature Forms | Keep an itemized account of all receipts and expenditures and make reports as directed | Organize fundraisers subject to the approval of the CAB | Look and work on grants with the President | Report to the CAB at weekly meetings about the current financial status of the club.

ADVISOR: Assist the CAB and members in HSU by motivating the organization and introducing new ideas and/or perspectives to help the organization grow and expand | Assist in the development of insight into problems, coach individuals in their duties as discussion leaders and/or CAB, identify and develop potential new leaders, and assist in upholding the standards of a collegiate level organization | Occasionally attend HSU events and preside over CAB meetings | Lend assistance if called upon by the CAB or if an emergency should arise.

YOUTH COORDINATOR: Coordinate a youth conference(s) focused on higher education | Preside at youth conference meetings | Appoint committee chairperson(s) and oversee them | Promote higher education | Be in contact with CSI regarding rules and regulations | Work with the Treasurer on grants and funding for youth conference(s) | Perform such other duties as ordinarily pertaining to this office.

BSLS COORDINATOR: Appoint Big Sibs and Lil Sibs | Coordinate events that focus on mentorship, and oversee the relationships of both parties (These events are subject to approval from the CAB) | Work with the Recreational Activities Coordinator to coordinate events/socials | Perform such other duties that pertain to BSLS’ affairs.

CULTURAL AWARENESS COORDINATOR: Coordinate events and workshops in relation to the Hmong/Hmong American Culture | Promote awareness of the Hmong community to the Davis campus and the community at large | Perform such other duties that pertain to cultural awareness.

PUBLUC RELATION: Outreach to UCD community and communities outside of Davis | Be in contact with the communities | Host all tabling events | Promote all events | Update all social media sites with the Hxstorian | Attend and promote events at other club meetings in and out of campus.

BALL COORDINATOR: Coordinate the Ball | Preside at and host Ball meetings | Appoint committee chairperson(s) and oversee them | Be in contact with campus administrators regarding to setting up Masquerade Ball | Work with Public Relation in promoting Masquerade Ball | Work with Treasurer on funding for Masquerade Ball.

ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR: Publicize intramural sports and extracurricular activities | Appoint team captains for IM and oversee them | Plan and take charge of socials within HSU | Perform such other duties that pertain to extracurricular activities. 

HXSTORIAN: Be present (or designate someone to be present) at all HSU events | Take photos and records of events.
Update all social media sites about recaps and upcoming events with Public Relations | Work with the Secretary on the weekly newsletters | Create an annual yearbook/scrapbook for the HSU term with the help of a committee.
